What he does at First Free… All kinds of things (staff oversight, administration, management, nuts and bolts, planning, coordination, filling in as needed).

Family Life… Married my college sweetheart, Sherri in 1973. A unique experience when down home country farm boy marries a real city girl! Blessed with two children, Melissa and Curtis. Melissa is married to Eric, and they have two children. All live in Wichita.

Life before First Free… Is there life before First Free?? Was pastor of three different churches before coming to First Free in 1998 (1 ½ years, 4 years – both in Nebraska  and 18 years – First Free’s initial church plant in west Wichita)

Passionate about... Helping people realize that consistency and sacrifice are really worth the effort, even if no one notices or applauds; because God notices and applaud (Col. 3:17; I Cor. 15:58).

Favorite Book... Anything I can read to my grandchildren!...

Where you can find me when not at church... Doing landscape in my yard. If it’s hunting season then I’ll be in a deer stand.

Something you might not know about me... During high school, college and even seminary my writing skills were terrible. One seminary professor corrected a research paper with an abundant use of his red pen. I found out later he also was a magazine editor. Hopefully I’ve learned a lot since then.

On my IPOD... I’m still trying to figure out my new camera. Only one electronic gadget at a time!
