Five Ways to Describe Me: Random thinker, wildly optimistic, happy, fun loving, messy My family life: I have been married to Ross for almost 29 years. We have three children. Our oldest son Blake is about to make us parents-in-law to Katie Perko. We are thrilled to have her in our family. Our daughter Mary Ann and our son Clark are in college. My life before First Free: Ross and I have attended First Free since the mid 1980’s, so it has been our church home for a long time. Before working at First Free, my time was spent at home raising our children, volunteering at school and church, and working around the house. I am passionate about: I love my Savior and the Bible, I love people and I especially love children and their families. I am passionate about my family and making our home a good place for everyone who enters it. My favorite book: Other than the Bible, I find myself going back again and again to a couple of books by Dallas Willard, The Divine Conspiracy and Renovation of the Heart. I have recently come to love Millard Erickson’s book, Introducing Christian Doctrine. I also enjoy cookbooks. When I'm not at church, you're likely to find me: If I'm not going to church, working at church, or heading home from church, I’m hopefully at home catching up on laundry or in the kitchen cooking or cleaning up. Things you might not know about me: My life is an open book, really. I was a Home Ec major in college! What's on my IPOD: Such a variety! A little Sarah Groves, a little Puccini, a little Gilbert and Sullivan, a little Emmy Lou Harris and the Gourds; John Piper podcasts along with the News from Lake Wobegone from a Prairie Home Companion. My personal mission statement: I want to be a person with an authentic, growing faith who is used by God to draw others to Himself. I want to enjoy to the fullest all the good things God has given me. |
