We’re eager for construction on our Renew 20-21 project to begin the last week of October, but that will mean some changes in the building on Sunday mornings and throughout the week. Everything past the elevator in the courtyard and gym, including the front office and the library, will be closed during construction, beginning Monday, October 25. Here are the details you need to know in the meantime:

Timeline

Construction is scheduled to take about six months. Our goal is to have the new space ready by Easter 2022!

Building Entrance

Sunday Mornings: There will be two available entrances on Sunday mornings—the West Foyer doors and the north doors. Both exterior entrances into the courtyard will be closed.

During the Week: A call button has been installed at the West Foyer doors for building access when doors are locked. Our receptionist will have a desk in the hallway outside the worship center during the week with a line of sight to those coming in the west doors.

Basement Access

The main elevator will be available for use, in addition to the stairs on either end of the hallway outside the worship center.

Coffee & Donuts

You’ll find these on Sunday mornings in the West Foyer throughout the project. Look for them in the far west end of the room.

Welcome Center & First-Time Family Check-In

We are temporarily relocating the Welcome Center and the First-Time Family Check-In for children’s classes to the coat room in the West Foyer. You’ll notice we’ve created an opening in the wall separating those two spaces for easy access!

Child Check-In Stations

There will be two key areas with child check-in stations. The self-check-in stations in the hallway connecting the nursery and the West Foyer will remain in place, and the self-check-in stations from the courtyard will be moved into the hallway connecting the courtyard and the worship center.

Children’s Classes

All of our children’s classes will be in the same location, but how you get there may change!

Nursery Classes: You’ll enter from the hallway connecting the West Foyer to the nursery.

Preschool/K-3^rd Classes: You’ll enter the Shine! Wing from the north entrance just inside the north exterior doors. We’ll have a greeter at the exterior door and the Shine! door to make sure things stay secure in the classrooms.

4^th-5^th Classes: The easiest way to access Room B1 in the basement is from the elevator, but you can also use either of the stairways at the ends of the hallway outside the worship center.

Library

The church library will be getting an update along with the courtyard, gym, and south entrance! This includes adding an automated catalog and check-out system. During that time, we won’t be able to check items out. Please help us out by returning all checked-out material by October 24. Don’t worry, there aren’t any overdue fees no matter how long an item has been out. After October 24, books can still be returned to the Welcome Center in the West Foyer.

Mid-Week Programs

If your kids are signed up for Awana or First Friends, please watch for program specific communication from those directors with additional details for drop-off and pick-up.
