- How does the message of the cross challenge those things our culture values and holds tightly?

- Read 1 Corinthians 1:22-24. The Jews demanded “signs” and the Greeks sought “wisdom.” Have the lack of these things in the message of the cross ever been a source of doubt for you? How have you handled that?

- What is the basis of our calling seen in verses 26-30? How does this challenge or encourage you?

- “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” What does this look like in your life? What other things are you tempted to boast in or rely on for success or security?

- Are you ever hesitant to share your faith because of fear of appearing “foolish”? How might the work of the Holy Spirit give you courage or confidence to share a message that “ is folly to those who are perishing”?
