Giving Our Best

November 29, 2015 Preacher: Josh Black Series: Malachi: Return to Me

Passage: Malachi 1:6– 2:9

Sermon Questions
- The people in Malachi’s day were disobeying God in what they were offering as a sacrifice. We don’t follow the same rules by bringing animal sacrifices to God, but what does the New Testament ask us to bring as sacrifices? Read 1 Pt. 2:9, 1 Pt. 2:11-12, Phil. 4:18, Eph. 5:2, Rom. 12:1-8, and Heb. 13:15. How are you doing obeying these commands for sacrifice?

- What we offer to God reveals what we think he is worth. Do you believe God is worth your best? If so, do your actions show that (how you spend your energy, time, and money)? If not, who or what gets your best?

- Have you become weary or bored in worship? What does half-hearted worship look like? How can your small group encourage each other in offering whole-hearted worship?

- Read Hebrews 12:28-29. God takes our worship seriously, do you? Spend some time sharing with each other ways Christ has given you his best and then offering a sacrifice of praise (Heb. 13:15) back to God in either song or prayer.
