Love the Lost

January 24, 2016 Preacher: Curt Romig Series: Marked By Love

Passage: Luke 19:1–10

Sermon Questions
- Pastor Curt challenged us that you can’t say you love someone and then never spend time with them. If someone looked at your calendar and how you spend your time, how would they say you love the lost? Who are the lost people you are most connected with?

- Loving the lost can’t be rooted in guilt or obligation, instead it must be rooted in understanding the character of God. How do the five things Pastor Curt shared affect your perspective on the lost and what it means to love them (Gods’ grace, justice, power, promises, & love)?

- What most often keeps you from loving the lost like Jesus did? (Spending time with them and calling them to himself). Perhaps busyness, fear, lack of compassion, pride, something else? How does understanding God’s character address these obstacles?

- What is a “next step” that you could take to grow in your love for the lost? How can your small group provide accountability and specifically pray for you in this area?

- Ultimately, our love for God, for one another, and the lost, flows from understanding God’s love for us. Because we can always grow in our understanding of God’s love (Eph 3:14-19) we can always grow in our love for God, one another, and the lost. How have you been most challenged by this series? Spend time praying as a group for growth in your understanding of God’s love and growth in these areas you shared.
