Liberty Led by Love

April 3, 2016 Preacher: Josh Black Series: 1 Corinthians: A Beautiful Mess, Part 2

Passage: 1 Corinthians 8:1–13

Sermon Questions
- How does understanding the social/historical context of this passage for the Christians in Corinth help you understand what the truths are that apply to us?

- What is Paul’s focus in his instruction to the Corinthians? What is his concern with the conscience?

- Our consciences are more influenced by our culture and our experience than we would like to admit. Can you share an example of a personal change in conscience? What were the influencing factors? How can we make sure our consciences are calibrated to God’s ways?

- Are there ways your “knowledge”—or how you live because of your knowledge—is in danger of harming other younger, or less mature Christians? How?

- How can we grow in letting love guide the way we exercise our freedom? And how is this connected to our understanding of the gospel?
