The Resurrection Body

July 17, 2016 Preacher: Josh Black Series: 1 Corinthians: A Beautiful Mess, Part 2

Passage: 1 Corinthians 15:34–49

Sermon Questions
- Do you believe Paul’s “pitch” about our resurrection bodies or do you find yourself feeling skeptical at times like the Corinthians?

- Have you thought much before about how we will be raised? What two ways did Pastor Josh point out from chapter 15. How does this affect your perspective on death?

- How have you been reminded recently that our bodies in this life are perishable and weak?

- Our bodies will one day be imperishable, glorious, powerful, spiritual, and fully bear the image of Christ! But until that day, we must persevere. Spend time in smaller groups sharing the areas that you are struggling now: areas that “the spirit is willing, but the body is weak;” or areas you wrestle with being driven by the flesh; or areas where your reflection of God’s glory and the image of Christ has become distorted; or areas you are discouraged to persevere.

- Read Colossians 3:1-17. How does the gospel message provide the motivation you need to pursue these things?
