Certainty of the Truth

August 14, 2016 Preacher: Josh Black Series: Luke: Certainty of the Truth, Part 1

Passage: Luke 1:1–4

Sermon Questions
- What are the things that make you lose confidence in people or truth claims? Has this carried over to your faith in any way? Explain.

- Luke is writing to a group that is struggling with uncertainty and doubt. Is there an area that you feel out of place or anxious because of your faith? What is your anchor in that uncertainty and how have you dealt with doubt in the past?

- Luke has a firm grasp on both the big picture of God’s plan for salvation and the details that all weave together as he tells the story of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. We are also called to pass on this story to the next generation. How are you involved in this and is there a next step you could take in either growing in your own understanding of the truth or helping others grow in learning and understanding it?

- Theology should lead to doxology or praise? Do you have a joy in your salvation that surpasses your circumstances? How can your group encourage each other to grow in that kind of joy?
