December 11, 2016 Preacher: Josh Black Series: A Christmas Playlist

Passage: Luke 1:67–79

Sermon Questions
- Will you have visitors over the holiday? Why do they come? What reason does Zechariah give for Jesus' visit?

- How does the poetic form of Zechariah's message affect you differently than if he had simply said Jesus is coming to bring salvation to his people?

- Zechariah highlights God's strength in this passage. In the past year, how have you needed to rely on God's strength to redeem in the fight against sin, or sustain you in your faith?

- Why did God promise his salvation so long before coming? What are some specific promises you look to for assurance and hope as you wait for Christ's second coming?

- What were the two responses to Jesus' visit that Pastor Josh mentioned?

- Are there promises or parts of the gospel that you, like Zechariah, are prone to doubt or forget?

- God saves us so we can glorify him. What is something you could do this week to "serve [or praise] God without fear"?
