- If you grew up going to church, what do you remember from lessons about Samson in your childhood? How does that compare with what your heard Sunday?
- What is sin and how do we define it? Whose eyes matter?
- "Satan paints sins in virtues colors." Is there a time you thought something was "straight" but later came to see it was actually "crooked"? What did God use to change your perspective?
- When are you tempted or willing to risk the "peril" of friendship with the world for the sake of your own pleasure or convenience?
- We see in this passage that Israel would rather live at peace with the Philistines (under oppression) than be rescued by God from the Philistines. How are we like Israel?
- God uses something that was intended for evil (Samson's sinful actions) to rescue his people. Where do you see other examples of this in Scripture. How does this truth encourage you?
- Our culture tends to elevate competence (talent) over character. What is a character trait you'd like to value and develop more in the next year? How will you do that?
