Ron May
Executive Pastor
Ron has been our executive pastor since 2017. His two primary areas of responsibility are staff and strategy. He cares well for the staff team and working with staff and elders to make strategic plans for future ministry. He’s passionate about seeing people flourish in their lives and in ministry. Ron had previously pastored in Minnesota, Kansas, and Illinois for thirty years prior to coming to First Free. He has a master’s degree in church leadership from Moody Graduate School and an undergraduate degree in bible, church music, and Christian education from University of Northwestern, St. Paul.
Ron and his late wife were married for twenty-eight years before she passed away and they have one adult son who lives in Los Angeles. Ron is skilled in woodworking and enjoys traveling, reading, and cycling.
What do you love about doing ministry at First Free?
“So many things! The congregation is encouraging. The people of First Free demonstrate a love for God and his Word. People are intentional in what they do, careful to serve well, and joyful in serving. Our staff demonstrates a passion for our ministry and seem to like serving together.”
