Children will always be important at First Free. As a parent, you can be confident that we are doing everything we can to make sure your child is safe and well cared for while in our programs. We exist to make disciples of Jesus Christ and believe that starts in the home. As a church it is our goal to equip and encourage you as the primary spiritual influence in your child's life. Discipleship is a lifelong journey that can start at a very young age. From nursery through elementary school we want to help you give your kids a spiritual foundation that will stay with them through the rest of their life.

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early if you are a first-time visitor. Come to the Welcome Center in our Courtyard to check in and we'll get you where you need to be!

What to Expect

Our children's classes meet on Sundays during the 9:30 and 11:00 services.

For All Ages

  • If possible, please plan for just one parent to drop off and pick up children to avoid overcrowding in the halls.
  • Please wear masks as you move throughout the building (kindergarten and up).
  • While we are planning to avoid crowding in our classes, we are also assuming that it will not be possible, or even desirable, to expect children to consistently maintain six feet from one another and the staff.
  • You will check children in using the check in-stations as usual. Please use the provided hand sanitizer before and after using the touchscreens.
  • If anyone in your family is sick, please stay at home.

Nursery

  • All volunteers will wear masks. Greeters will have nametags with their photographs on them so you can see who will be taking your child back to their classroom!
  • Traffic in the nursery hall will be limited to those serving and families who use the nursery.
  • Class size will be limited to avoid overcrowding. Our current plan is to limit the total number in each classroom to 15 (including adults).
  • Teachers will wash hands before children come and either wash hands or use hand sanitizer frequently throughout the morning.
  • Toys and hard surfaces will be disinfected before each service.
  • Children in the toddler classrooms will wash hands before entering their classes.
  • Volunteers serving snacks will wear gloves.

Preschool

  • Traffic in the Shine! halls will move in one direction to help mitigate congestion. Enter from the stairwell by the library, drop your children off at their classroom door, and exit by going up the stairs and out the door at the north end of the hall.
  • If one parent needs to drop off children in both the preschool and elementary hall, drop off preschool child first. Go up the north stairs to the elementary hall, drop off your child and then exit by going down the stairs at the north end of the hall.
  • All teachers will have nametags with their photographs on them since they will all be wearing masks throughout the morning.
  • Class size will be limited to avoid overcrowding. Our current plan is to limit the total number in each classroom to 15 (including adults).
  • Teachers and children will wash hands or use hand sanitizer throughout the morning. Teachers will help children use hand sanitizer.
  • Surfaces will be disinfected throughout the morning including the handrails, doorknobs, and restrooms.
  • Children will not be required to wear a mask, but 3 and 4 year olds are welcome to wear one if you prefer.
  • Drinking fountains will not be used. Children will be offered a snack and drink in their rooms by volunteers wearing gloves.

Elementary

  • Traffic in the Shine! halls will move in one direction to help mitigate congestion. Enter from the stairwell by the library, drop your child off at their classroom door and exit by going down the stairs and out the door at the north end of the hall.
  • If one parent needs to drop off children in both the preschool and elementary hall, drop off your preschool child first. Go up the north stairs to the elementary hall, drop off your child and then exit by going down the stairs at the north end of the hall.
  • All teachers will have nametags with their photographs on them since they will all be wearing masks throughout the morning. Children will wear masks throughout the morning as well.
  • Teachers and children will wash their hands when they enter the room and will continue to wash and/or use hand sanitizer regularly.
  • Surfaces will be disinfected throughout the morning including handrails, doorknobs, and restrooms.
  • Drinking fountains will not be used. We will use pitchers and paper cups in the classrooms for drinks.
  • Class size will be monitored. Depending on enrollment, there may be more than 15 people in our larger rooms. If we do that, children will sit in groups of no more than 15 and will be spaced at least 6' from other groups of the same. Our intention is that we will work to maintain distance between children, but will not be able to consistently maintain 6’ of social distancing.
