*Goal for November-December
General Fund Giving 11/22: $43,820
Advent is a time of waiting, a time of watching. Looking and longing for the coming of Christ. It’s a time we look back at Christ’s first coming, but also look forward to his second coming.
In our Advent readings to start off our service each week, we will look at various ways Jesus fulfills the Bible’s promise of a Messiah. This week, we'll see how Jesus fulfills the covenant God made to David in 2 Samuel 7. A promise that from his offspring would come a king who would establish an everlasting kingdom and a universal reign. We encourage you consider this theme further this week with these extended readings:
2 Samuel 7:1-16, Psalm 89, Luke 1:26-33, Revelation 4-5
Through the end of December, you’ll see the manger tree in the hallway outside the church offices. Plan now to include others in your celebration of Christmas by joining our missions partner Embrace in supporting families in need. Simply pick an ornament from the tree and return the listed baby item (unwrapped) to the crib next to the tree! You can also find a wish list on the Embrace website here>>>
Thank You Pastor Mike!
After twenty-four years of ministry on staff at First Free, Pastor Mike is fully retiring at the end of December. Pastor Mike served twice as our Lead Pastor and most recently served the past seven years in a semi-retired role in Senior Adult Ministries. We are so thankful for his good ministry over the years and are happy that he and Jan plan to stay in Wichita and involved at First Free as members. We encourage you to join us in thanking them for their ministry to us.
