God Announcing His Gift

November 30, 2014 Preacher: Jeremy Krause Series: The Greatest Gift

Passage: Luke 1:5–38

Sermon Questions
â–ª What was the best gift you ever received during Christmas?
â–ª Prior to Luke contrasting Zechariah and Elizabeth with Mary, he introduces his book in 1:1-4. What is the purpose for which Luke is writing this book and to what lengths did Luke go to confirm this book?
â–ª Why does Luke include details like Herod is King of Judea (1:5), or Quirinius as governor of Syria (2:1), or the reign of Tiberius Caesar (3:1)?
â–ª Perhaps it’s easy to judge Zechariah for his unbelief (1:20), but when have you demonstrated unbelief?
â–ª Gabriel mentions Christ’s humanity and divinity. Why are both of these important to the work of Christ?
â–ª What in your life today seems to be impossible? How does Luke 1:37 provide hope for you?
