- What are some of the things our culture associates with true greatness? How does those contrast with Jesus’ life and character?

- Read Luke 9:28-36. What are the Old Testament connections in this passage and how do they point to who Jesus is and what he came to do?

- The disciples were told explicitly two times that they need to listen. What truths were they struggling to understand. How are those truths critical to both the gospel and our lives as Christians today?

- In what areas do you argue or fight for “greatness”? What could you do to grow in receiving the least among us?

- Are there areas where you are “territorial” about ministry or other people’s success? How does Jesus’ response to the disciples in verse 50 speak to these areas?

- Spend some time praying together that we may all come to understand the truths in this passage in greater measure.
